Princess Turandot, soprano Francesca Patanè, appears before the crowd to pose her three riddles to Calaf, tenor Francesco Hong. If he answers all of them correctly, he will win her hand in marriage.

Several wigs sit backstage, ready for a quick change. With over 125 singers, children, and extras in this production, many with several costume changes, there is a great deal of careful planning and preparation to make sure that it all runs smoothly.

OCP Prop Master Paul Lodes makes sure that everything is in its proper place before rehearsal. Here, he sets the decapitated dummy, which is the recently-executed Prince of Persia who failed to answer Turandot’s riddles.
