Based on the 1996 Academy Award–nominated film by Lars von Trier, composer Missy Mazzoli and librettist Royce Vavrek’s chamber opera tells the story of a couple’s sacrificial love. Before the world premiere, cast members perform excerpts, and Mazzoli and Vavrek discuss the creative process.
