Opera in the Making

By Opera Philadelphia

Double Exposure, our annual opera-in-the-making event, is a wonderful exercise for both the composers whose works are featured and the creative teams who stage these scenes in drastically different and exciting ways. But our talented cast of opera starlets aren't only artists of the stage. Two of our cast members, mezzo-soprano Samantha Hankey and bass-baritone Andrew Bogard, have another creative passion: photography.

Working on opposing creative teams with directors R. B. Schlather and Daniel Ellis, Samantha and Andrew jumped behind the lens to capture their friends' and colleagues' Double Exposure experiences. The results speak for themselves.
