Opera Philadelphia

Join us and Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra for Make Music Philly

By Opera Philly

For the second year in a row, Philadelphia will celebrate music with a free, city-wide festival on Saturday, June 21, the first day of summer and the longest day of the year.

Make Music Philly is part of National Music Day, a tradition that started in France in the 1980s and has spread across American cities over the past decade. Philadelphia's only free, “do it yourself” festival, this 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. event features organized concerts and informal performances by professionals and amateurs of all genres and ages.

In taking part in Make Music Philly, the Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra has invited  members of the Opera Philadelphia Chorus to joinwith our city'smost talented amateur musicians, singers, music teachers, and the very best students from Philadelphia School District in a fun and unique side-by-side performance of Beethoven's Symphony 9.  Join us in this wonderful event as we celebrate music here and around the world!
