Soprano Leah Crocetto on her role debut as Elisabeth de Valois
A native of Adrian, Michigan, Leah is a 2010 Grand Finals Winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and a former Adler fellow at San Francisco Opera. In our new production of Don Carlo, Leah makes both her company debut and her much anticipated role debut as Elisabeth de Valois. Earlier this season, she sang Desdemona in Otello with English National Opera, followed by performances of Mimi in La bohème with San Francisco Opera, followed by Madam Lidoine in Poulenc’s powerful Dialogues des Carmelites with Washington National Opera.
In this interview, Leah discusses her relationships in the opera with both Don Carlo and King Philip II, her favorite musical moments of the opera, and her celebrity crush, WWE superstar Roman Reigns.
