Opera Philadelphia invites you to an operatic amuse-bouche featuring Lee Hoiby’s delightful BON APPÉTIT! This charming opera, included as part of Opera Philadelphia's digital fundraiser, showcases the beloved Julia Child and is adapted directly from one of her classic television broadcasts during which she bakes a chocolate cake. Opera Philadelphia has partnered with Houston Grand Opera to bring you a new production of this piece starring acclaimed mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton.
In addition to the performance, Opera Philadelphia is serving up a unique menu of benefits for supporters of this special event. We have partnered with acclaimed chef Pierre Calmels, owner of Bibou Boutique, who will provide a three-course French dinner to gala guests in the Philadelphia region (at the Benefactor level and above).
