BON APPÉTIT! A Sweet Soirée
Opera Philadelphia invites you to an operatic amuse-bouche featuring Lee Hoiby’s delightful BON APPÉTIT! This charming opera showcases the beloved Julia Child and is adapted directly from one of her classic television broadcasts during which she bakes a chocolate cake. Opera Philadelphia has partnered with Houston Grand Opera to bring you a new production of this piece starring acclaimed mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton.
In addition to the performance, Opera Philadelphia is serving up a unique menu of benefits for supporters of this special event. We have partnered with acclaimed chef Pierre Calmels, owner of Bibou Boutique, who will provide a three-course French dinner to gala guests in the Philadelphia region (at the Benefactor level and above). While the event is free to watch, we invite you to become a sponsor of Opera Philadelphia’s Sweet Soirée take advantage of these benefits, such as a chocolate cake delivered to your home. Your support ensures that Opera Philadelphia remains a leader in our cultural landscape locally, nationally, and, especially now with the introduction of the Opera Philadelphia Channel, around the world.
