Please join us for an informative installment of Between the Notes! Our guest speaker is Drexel University Professor of Music and Director of the Jazz Orchestra, Dr. George L. Starks, Jr.,who will focus on the rich musical environment of Charlie Parker’s formative years in Kansas City. He will also discuss the musical innovations that made Parker such a significant figure in American music in the twentieth century and Parker’s continuing influence on the music of the twenty-first century.
