Opera Philadelphia comes to the Bryn Mawr Film Institute, one of the area's leading film houses, with our film of Paul Curran's critically-acclaimed production of La traviata.

Transposing Verdi's classic romantic tragedy to glamorous 1950s Paris, this production features soprano Lisette Oropesa in her role debut as Violetta, the courtesan who surrenders her last hope of personal happiness for the sake of her lover Alfredo's reputation. 

Amy Spencer and Marissa Chalker of the Opera Philadelphia Chorus will be part of a post-screening conversation.
