Organ Day
11:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Free Admission
The Opera Philadelphia Chorus returns to Organ Day at the Kimmel Cultural Campus on Saturday, February 25th.
This FREE Organ Day, a six-hour marathon of organ music performed on the Fred J. Cooper Memorial Organ, is presented by the Kimmel Cultural Campus, in association with the Philadelphia Chapter of The American Guild of Organists (AGO). Audiences of all ages are invited to enjoy the sounds of “Fred," the largest mechanical pipe organ in a concert venue in the United States, through a lineup that includes something for everyone.
Opera Philadelphia will be performing music of celebration by George Frideric Handel (Zadok the Priest), C. Hubert H. Parry (I Was Glad When They Said Unto Me), and newer works like Look Up Into the Heavens by Philadelphia composer Marcus DeLoach. Jeffrey DeVault will accompany the Opera Philadelphia Chorus.
Tickets for the 11:30 a.m. performance are at capacity, but there will be a standby line at the door. All performances 12 - 6:00 p.m. are non-ticketed. Come and go as you please!
